Hi reader,

One could say that we have limited amounts of vital resources. So spending ones time on wasting energy on activities you are not passionate about will result in a catastrophic effect on the long term. Sometimes we tend to forget that life only occurs in the moment of NOW. When forgotten we fight for things that we think will bring us happiness in the future. However, this only results in this constant oases feeling of dissatisfaction and lack. I struggle with these on a daily base actually. However, when I am in the zone, I feel unbeatable.

It is only when we discover that we have climbed a ladder against the wrong wall that we regret these decisions. This is mostly due to social conditioning and our own consent in allowing it to rule our life. And quite frankly, this is very hard to become aware of. You can neglect all you want, but when you feel tired all the time and unfulfilled, but keep telling yourself that the work you do is fulfilling, you are a deceiver of your own life. When awoken you can see the infinite part of your nature or at least keep some glimpses of it when turning back to daily ‘normal’ state of being. This deeper part of us is always expanding without an end goal in reach. It’s simply expanding. So don’t feel guilty when you discover you have been using the wrong ladder or wall. There is in theory no good nor wrong, merely newfound insights can be discovered (remembered) and a better lifestyle can be build from that awareness.

Staying aware of the glimpses of ones own mind is what can heal this social conditioning. You can then differentiate the stories you are being told between your own inner wisdom. Your true path of life will then become much more transparent and personal, instead of superficial and cluttered.

Letting go of this social conditioning is a yielding gesture. Because you are personally identified with the conditioning, you are afraid to let go. It has become a part of you, and letting go can feel equal like ‘dying’. Not all social conditioning is destructive for your equanimity though. Some of it you need in order to function within your societal box. However, when the conditions you have been enforced on is causing you to make decisions that are way out of alignment of who you truly are, then life-crisis can occur.

You then act out of a ‘false personality’ or what the Hinduism tradition would call ‘Maya’ meaning ‘illusion’. You live your life out of these illusions without being aware of it! The sad part is that we lack the methods and systems in place to stimulate people in awakening their true personality. Ancient traditions like yoga, Tai Chi, meditation or similar rituals always knew the danger of ‘Maya’ and offered methods to stimulate the awakening process.

These are things I would love to implement into our daily lifestyles again. So I will keep you folks posted about this sort of information. The methods are ancient old, not new or creative. We can learn a lot by studying our history and experimenting with these methods. And off course come up with new methods that could facilitate an awakening process that induces the desired effects of what the ancients experienced.

Hope this stuff is worthwhile reading or at least comforting to read.

I know going back to these older articles that I gained a lot of confidence and comfort by reading stuff about personal and spiritual development.

And in the end, I still think that working on that core of someones life matters more then that new car.

But hee, that’s just me.

Kees
